چکیده

The minimized dispersion and controllable dissipation (MDCD) reconstruction technique optimizes dispersion and dissipation separately and shows desirable properties of both dispersion and dissipation. A low dispersion finite volume scheme based on MDCD reconstruction is proposed which is capable of handling flow discontinuities and resolving a broad range of length scales. Although the proposed scheme is formally second order of accuracy, the optimized dispersion and dissipation make it very accurate and robust so that the rich flow features and complex geometry encountered in many practical engineering applications can be handled properly. A number of test cases are computed to verify the performances of the proposed scheme.

Entropy Stable Scheme on Two-Dimensional Unstructured Grids for Euler Equations

We propose an entropy stable high-resolution finite volume scheme to approximate systems of two-dimensional symmetrizable conservation laws on unstructured grids. In particular we consider Euler equations governing compressible flows. The scheme is constructed using a combination of entropy conservative fluxes and entropy-stable numerical dissipation operators. High resolution is achieved based...

A new gas-kinetic scheme based on analytical solutions of the BGK equation

Up to an arbitrary order of the Chapman–Enskog expansion of the kinetic Bhatnagar– Gross–Krook (BGK) equation, a corresponding analytic solution can be obtained. Based on such a compact exact solution, a new gas-kinetic scheme is constructed for the compressible Navier–Stokes equations. Instead of using a discontinuous initial condition in the gas-kinetic BGK–NS method Xu [K. Xu, A gas-kinetic ...

A Composite Finite Difference Scheme for Subsonic Transonic Flows (RESEARCH NOTE).

This paper presents a simple and computationally-efficient algorithm for solving steady two-dimensional subsonic and transonic compressible flow over an airfoil. This work uses an interactive viscous-inviscid solution by incorporating the viscous effects in a thin shear-layer. Boundary-layer approximation reduces the Navier-Stokes equations to a parabolic set of coupled, non-linear partial diff...

Simulation of the Taylor–Green Vortex Using High-Order Flux Reconstruction Schemes

In this paper, the ability of high-order flux reconstruction numerical schemes to perform accurate and stable computations of compressible turbulent flows on coarsemeshes is investigated. Twonew flux reconstruction schemes, which are optimized for wave dissipation and dispersion properties, are compared to the nodal discontinuous Galerkin and spectral difference methods recovered via the energy...
